Sovereign Grand Inspector General
for The Orient of Missouri
Ill. Bro. Dan Smothers, 33°
Personal Representative for the
Valley of Kansas City

As the Personal Representative of the Sovereign Grand Inspector General for the Orient of Missouri in the Valley of Kansas City, I want to personally welcome you to our Valley's website.

The Scottish Rite has a long history in the Kansas City area and is part of the oldest fraternity in the world: Freemasonry. Membership is open to any Master Mason who is in good standing and seeks further knowledge into the craft and further light into the principles that guide every Freemason. Like all Masonic branches, the Scottish Rite does not discriminate on the basis of Race or religion.

Our facility is located on the edge of the historic Hyde Park District of Kansas City and is a monument to the Architecture that existed in the early 1900s. We welcome visitors and enjoy giving tours of this magnificent structure to individuals and groups alike. We also rent our temple out for activities that need meeting space, dining hall facilities or Auditorium (with stage, backdrops, lighting and sound system) space.

I invite you take your time and browse our website as well as our forum area to learn more about our organization and the role we play in our community!
Warmest Regards,
