The regular meeting
of the Clay-Platte Scottish Rite Club was opened in proper form at 7:02
pm on February 18, 2008 by President Kevin Hampton, with prayer by the
Chaplain, Virden Daugherty, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to
our Flag. There were 11 members, 8 ladies and 4 guests present.
Guest
Speakers: Venerable Master, Bernard Meister
spoke to our group on the importance of getting back to our roots in
the Blue Lodge and finding those men we believe would be good Scottish
Rite Masons, get them into a Blue Lodge and into the Rite. He also spoke
on the importance of continuing Masonic education to define who we are
and what we do. He promoted the College of the Consistories self-study
course that will educate members on the degrees and their deeper meanings.
Brother Meister also announced that the Valley will hold Family nights
in July and August instead of going dark as had been the practice before
the temple was air conditioned. Movies and fun are planned for both
months.
