The regular meeting of the Clay-Platte Scottish Rite Club was opened at 7:00 pm by President Ron Hewitt in proper form on May 21, 2007, with prayer by the Chaplain, Virden Daugherty, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to our Flag. There were 8 members, 7 ladies and no guests present.

Guest Speaker: There was no speaker. Our President reported on his visit to the Raytown Scottish Rite Club. He indicated he would go again next month.

Sickness: Yvonne King reported that Don had entered North Kansas City Hospital this date with Asthma and other lung problems [a card was passed for signing by everyone present]. Gary Barron is still recovering in the therapy center at John Knox.

Minutes: The Minutes of the April 16, 2007 meeting were approved as published. There was no Treasurer’s Report: the President and Secretary were not aware of any financial activity.

Old Business: There was no old business.

New Business: Following a discussion of the tornado destruction of Greensburg, Kansas, it was moved and passed that a gift of $100.00 would be sent to the Masonic lodge there [the Valley office has the name and address of the lodge].

Remarks: Lodge and Valley activities were noted including the Valley “yard sale” in Independence, Bates County picnic and picnic at the Christopher farm at Odessa.

The meeting was closed in regular form at 7:25 pm.

Dues for 2007 in the amount of $15.00 are now payable. Dues can be mailed directly to the Treasurer; OR BETTER turn them in when you attend the next meeting! If you are not sure of your dues status, check with the Treasurer.

The speaker at the June meeting has not been announced.
