The regular meeting of the Raytown Scottish Rite Club was opened in proper form by our new president Ron Hewitt, KCCH at 6:30 pm on February 11, 2008 in the old Sultan's Lounge of Ararat Shrine Temple with prayer by our Chaplain, Ken Hyatt. There were 11 members, ladies and guests present.

Guest Speaker: Cotton Sivils, director of eastern Jackson County's Hillcrest Transitional Housing spoke about the services offered by the organization. Cotton explained that the organization helps families get back on their feet after loosing everything. They focus on getting them independent of assistance in 90 days by supplying housing, utilities and counseling on money management. They assist as well with food and personal hygiene items and even clothing if available. The club was provided with a list of needs and wishes that the program has and brother Jim Snyder made a motion to donate $50.00 to the program. The motion was seconded by Dan Woehrman and passed by the members present.

Sickness:
Debbie Woehrman had knee surgery and was doing well with the aid of a cane. Bette McCain changed Chemo treatments 3 days in a row and skips 3 weeks and continues to see results.

Minutes: The minutes were presented via email and regular mail in advance of the meeting and were approved as submitted.

Treasurers Report:The Treasurer reported that our closing balance for December was $627.45

Old Business:
There was no old business.

New Business: Brother Ron Hewitt and brother Dan Woehrman are working on the 2008 Calendar Book for the Valley and announced that it will be available by the March dinner meeting.
