The regular meeting of the Raytown Scottish Rite Club for January was held at the Peachtree Buffet due to heating problems at Aararat Shrine which closed the temple. The meeting was opened in proper form 7:00 pm on January 14, 2008 by outgoing President Roger Salyer, 33°, with prayer by the Chaplain, Ken Hyatt, the Pledge of Allegiance to our Flag was suspended due to the Impromptu meeting location. There were 22 members, ladies and guests present.

Guest Speakers: There was no Guest Speaker.

Sickness: No sickness was reported.

Minutes: There were no December minutes to report and the reading of the November minutes was dispensed with being two months old

Treasurers Report:The Treasurer reported that our closing balance for December was $693.14

Old Business: Outgoing President, Roger Salyer 33° Presented and installed the Officers for 2008 who were elected by unanimous vote. They are: President, Ron Hewitt, KCCH, Vice President James Snyder, KCCH; Secretary Treasurer Bill McCain, KCCH the chaplain, Ken Hyatt, 33° was asked to continue in his role by bro. Hewitt.  Communications & calling will continue to be handled by bro. Vern Whitson 33°.

New Business: Incoming President Ron Hewitt announced that the Minutes for each meeting would be presented to all club members either by e-mail or regular mail in starting with the January meeting. He presented bro. McCain with pre addressed envelopes he can use to mail the minutes to him so they could be posted to the club website in a timely manor.

Remarks: The Christmas exchange gifts that were purchased but never exchanged when our December meeting was cancelled because of the ice storm should be brought to the February meeting where we will use them as Bingo prizes.

The meeting was closed in regular form at 8:30 pm.

Dues for 2008 are now payable. You can mail them directly to the Secretary/Treasurer; OR BETTER turn them in when you attend the next meeting! If you are not sure of your dues status, check with the Bill.
